震驚全球的高雄市大氣爆，傷亡慘重，台灣創價學會宣布捐助賑災金新台幣100萬元給高雄市政府，統籌民間資源協助災區進行重建工作。

台灣創價學會8月1日在災區所在地「前鎮文化會館」舉行「追善祈福勤行會」，並在隔日於全國40多處舉辦「追善祈福勤行會」，會員們透過唱誦「法華經」題目，誠摯地為澎湖空難及高市氣爆不幸罹難民眾追善冥福，並祈求救援活動順利進行、災害降到最低。

台灣創價學會曾獲頒「行政院獎」、並連續17度獲內政部頒發「社會優良團體獎」，8度教育部頒發「推展社會教育有功團體獎」及2度獲文化部(原文建會)頒發「文馨獎」金獎肯定。(中央社)
