搶在2014年法國巴黎車展前亮相的全新第二代XC90，可是VOLVO睽違十多年後的大型旗艦休旅，即便新車外貌有多數線條走向皆承襲上代設計，且2014年7月VOLVO瑞典Torslanda 廠宣佈停產第一代XC90，但這並不表示以往大眾熟悉的XC90就此消失，因為它將在2014年9月15日以新「XC Classic」車名於中國北京開售。
